AMY ALLEN, Director and Founder of the L.A. Acting Workshop in 1981, holds degrees in English, Speech and
Drama from Boston University and the prestigious East 15 School of Acting in London.
Additionally, Ms. Allen has an M.F.A. in Theatre Arts from
the California Institute of the Arts, where she was a full Disney Scholar.
As an actress, Ms. Allen has worked in theatre, television,
and commercials and is a member of SAG, AFTRA, and AEA. Ms. Allen was nominated for and won two coveted L.A. Drama Critics
awards.
Besides acting, Ms. Allen has worked in all facets of the entertainment
community, including teaching, research, production, casting, and administration.
She is a college professor of the Theatre Arts, and has
taught at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts/Pasadena, Immaculate
Heart College, Cal State/LA, L.A. Community College and Pasadena Community College. She has also instructed the Martial Arts T'ai Chi Chuan.
