Thank you all so much for
making the L.A. Backstage Tour the trip of a lifetime for me! For anybody even
slightly interested in acting or the entertainment business, the learning experience truly doesn’t get any better.
It was great to see everyone on the tour reach their full potential with the different commercials and monologues, much thanks
to Bob Luke. I wish we could have stayed longer, but I was surprised with how much we were actually able to do within
four days. Although each day was different, I would say that going on the Studio Tours and auditioning for all of the
agents was the most fun for me. One thing I found particularly interesting was that Hollywood movies make you believe what’s
not really there. This became clearer to me when we learned about how they add sound effects and use different stages
for various scenes. Whenever I watch a movie anymore, I often wonder how much of it is actually on location. The Warner Brothers Tour was great as I was able to see where many films and television shows
have taken place. It was also interesting to see nice houses that were really just office buildings and the studios
own fire station. I could have spent all day in the museum especially since I was tempted to want to touch everything
in there. The Sony Pictures tour was also great. I think getting poured
on by the rain made the experience that much better!
The meet and greet with all of the agents was also a lot of fun.
It gave me a huge boost of confidence within myself, and it provided me with lots of positive feedback and useful information
for the future. It was also interesting to see how there’s always something happening in Los Angeles. At the Sportsmen’s Lodge,
a new series called “Party Down” was being filmed. I recognized one of the actors (Adam Scott) who played
Will Ferrell’s brother in the movie “Step Brothers” and actress Jane Lynch. Being on the set of "Jeopardy"
was also awesome even though I’m still terrible at answering the questions. But I can now point out to everyone
who actually watches it, that each contestant will never look down (except writing their answers at the end) and that everyone
is also the same height! The Actors Forum and the show taping of "Rita Rocks" were also a ton of fun.
I got to hear how actors live from day to day, what it takes to work in this competitive business, and see firsthand how it’s
all put together. The LAX airport was also great, since everyone was delirious and laughing at just about everything.
All in all I had one of the best times of my life and was thrilled to have met such great people along the way. Thank
you all for making this trip possible and working so hard throughout each day!
